4Shepherds Horsemanship offers three different clinics:
DESENSITIZATION CLINIC Whether you are looking to increase your confidence on a casual trail ride or participate in a parade through downtown, our Desensitization Clinic will challenge you and your horse throughout the entire 4 hours. Designed for riders from beginner to advanced, our instructors will teach YOU the things you need to know to enable your horse to respond effectively and safely under stressful conditions. Our instruction is not just designed to make your horse bolder; 4Shepherds Horsemanship's proven techniques teach the rider how to use the horse's own instincts to create success. We will show you how to build a relationship with your horse based on trust, allowing you to overcome stressors you never thought possible. Like all of our clinics, this instruction is hands on and participants are on horseback for the entire clinic.
You will leave the Desensitization Clinic with effective tools and ideas to push yourself, and your horse, farther than you ever imagined. This clinic is ideal for organized equine groups of any kind who enjoy working together and pushing each other to be better, or individuals looking to raise their horsemanship to the next level.
This clinic is offered multiple times during the season and fills up fast. There will be two 4Shepherds Instructors leading this clinic and class size is limited to thirty riders to ensure thorough instruction and safety. Don't miss this opportunity to take you and your horse to the next level! Register now to ensure a spot in a class you won't be able to stop talking about.
STRESS CLINIC Often, riders have no idea just how much they are communicating to their mount through body language. For some, the mere anticipation of a stressful encounter causes them to transmit trepidation to their horse. This creates anxiety in the horse whether the perceived threat was real or not. Overcoming the effects of stressors on your horse begins with YOU! We can teach you how to communicate confidence to your horse.
4Shepherds Horsemanship's Stress Clinic is a great follow up to the Desensitization Clinic. During this clinic you and your horse will be safely introduced to a higher level of stress. Multiple pressures will be used simultaneously while you ride in a group setting. Here, we reinforce and build on the techniques taught in the Desensitization Clinic, utilizing your horse's natural instincts to achieve success. As a result of this clinic you will be amazed at what your horse is capable of, and your horse will learn a new level of trust in you, its rider.
There will be two 4Shepherds Instructors leading this clinic and class size is limited to thirty riders to insure thorough instruction and safety. Participants of this clinic are on horseback for the entire clinic. Available as a 4 hour or 6 hour clinic.
GROUND WORK AND HORSEMANSHIP CLINIC WHO IS IN CHARGE?!! How many times have you heard another rider say, "This horse just does not like that," or, "I've learned that this horse will only (fill in the blank) when he/she is good and ready." How many times have you said it yourself? A ship can only have one captain, and unless you are sitting at the helm, your horse will never be as confident, trusting, and willing to please, as it could be. That is why we are extremely excited to offer the Ground Work and Horsemanship Clinic.
At 4Shepherds Horsemanship, we use the dominant/submissive instinct every horse is born with to put YOU in charge of your horse and rider team. This clinic covers exercises like roundpen, longe line, leading and squaring, backing, yielding the hindquarters, trailering and more. Our instructors will teach you what you need to know to use these techniques effectively. Bring your horse or learn on one provided by us, either way you will get one on one instruction.
The Groundwork and Horsemanship Clinic is four hours and is limited to fifteen participants. Two 4Shepherds Instructors lead this clinic, insuring every participant the opportunity to learn through hands-on experience. All participants will work with their own horses, as well as other horses, to provide understanding in working with all different types of horses’ personalities. Whether you are new to the fundamentals of groundwork, or simply want to make the training time you spend with your horse more effective, this clinic is for you. Together, we will establish you as the dominant leader of your horse/rider team. With this, your horse will recognize YOU as its captain and will look to you for guidance and instruction.
